From the beginning of the events in Syria, so far Iraq has seen for asylum thousands of families to different regions of Iraq and concentrated presence in the governorates of Kurdistan , where the bench largest refugee who estimated the Syrians in Iraq about gatherings (216) thousand refugees spread over a number of camps, including (Dumez camp and Qchtbh the movement and arabized and Kourkosk and Basrma and Dararhkuran) as well as a camp in Al- Anbar governortae, which is based only camp which is located outside the Kurdistan region with a number of them spread to various parts of Iraq.
The city of Dohuk recently witnessed the influx numbers of refugee families as a result of the violence which occur in Kobanî , Syrian city and in spite of the difficult humanitarian situations experienced by Iraq as a result of the violence that followed the fall of Mosul, and faced of a major humanitarian challenges are in the presence of hundreds of thousands of displaced families and increasing needs, especially with the beginning of winter season , Iraqi Red Crescent seeks to continue its assistance to the Syrian refugees.
Recently the team of Iraqi Red Crescent society targeted (2070) Syria families through the distribution of food items in different areas of Erbil and and Dhouk as a part of relief program carried out by the IRCS with the support of the American Red Cross and the financing of the company (Marathon Oil) including to help Syrian refugees in provision them by food, and health services , targets (7528) family housed in different areas.
Since March, the beginning of 2012 the Iraqi Red Crescent Society adopted a series of relief operations and humanitarian programs to assist the Syrian refugees through the provision of water, food, health services and, psychological support and education programs. The number of beneficiaries of these programs have reached more than 100 refugees and to assist more than (5) Thousandspupils to join in schools during the year of 2013/2014 by providing them with clothing and various of school requirements .IRCS also provides drinking water to a number of camps , besides that; implemented programs to assist the families on the social and psychological conditioning and try to integrate them into local communities.
