Iraqi Red Crescent Society An independent national humanitarian society that works to reduce the suffering and pain of people without discrimination during the peace and war , natural disasters and non-natural disasters , it is also considered one of the most activist societies in the international movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
Iraqi Red Crescent Society announced about the submission of medical supplies and first aid for more than (3) million visitors Iraqi and foreign. The Assistant Secretary-General in the Iraqi Red Crescent Mohammed al-Khuzai Said: The association has developed prior plan to provide health and medical services and first aid for the crowds of millions heading towards the holy city of Karbala through coordination among the branches of Assembly in the governorate (Karbala, Najaf and Babil, Muthanna, Basra, Maysan and Dhi Qar, Wasit, Diwaniyah and Diyala) He added: Crescent team deployed in all the roads that leading to the Karbala, city provided medical aid and ambulatory services for more than (3) million of Iraqi and foreign visitors. Al Khuzai add : The association has set up a medical detachments on neighboring Iran’s border outlets in the governorate of Maysan, Wasit to provide health services for visitors in cooperation with the Iranian Red Crescent. He explained,” The Crescent teams have set up more than (150) medical detachment fixed and mobile to provide health services for visitors as well as providing ambulances to transport emergency cases, such as the Crescent teams to transfer large numbers of visitors through the Crescent vehicles of Musayyib area to regions within Karbala.
