The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced the distribution of food and electric heaters for displaced families in Anbar and Karbala governorates. The director of Operations Department in IRCS Ahmed Kadhim said “IRCS’s teams in Anbar governorate received more than 650 displaced families from Al-Sufia and Al-sajarih areas due to the recent security situation in those areas”. He also said “the displaced families have been sheltered in Sab’a sanabol and Al-salam camps in Ameriyat Al-Fallujah. While IRCS’s teams distributed more than 300 food rations and more than 600 blankets as well as providing the displaced families with ready food meals daily”.
In the same context, IRCS in Karbala has distributed more than 35 electric heaters for more than 35 displaced families whom fled from Nineveh to Al-hendia district in Karbala in cooperation with the Holy Shrine of Imam Abbas.
Ahmed Kazem also added “IRCS’s teams in Al-hendia district office has distributed electric heaters which provided by the above mentioned Holy Shrine as a gift for the displaced families as they are living in difficult humanitarian circumstances in time of low temperatures. Thus, IRCS distributed heaters for displaced families as well as the Red Crescent’s teams organized lectures of psychosocial support for families and children in those areas.
