Iraqi Red Crescent Society An independent national humanitarian society that works to reduce the suffering and pain of people without discrimination during the peace and war , natural disasters and non-natural disasters , it is also considered one of the most activist societies in the international movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) / Dhi Qar branch carried out First Aid workshops for the displaced people in a number of Dhi Qar districts. As the cadre of the branch organized several workshops in the field of first aid to the displaced families at the Naseryah district camps, and Chebaish district so that to spread the principles of first aid and to prepare new aiders who can provide first aid to the injured and sick persons before being transferred to the nearest health center, as the number of beneficiaries were (20) displaced.
The cadre of the branch also implemented polio vaccine campaign in collaboration with Health Directorate at the above governorate in which (16) team has been formed and distributed in the center of the governorate and its districts so as to prevent the diseases, as well as to implement educational campaign about raising the awareness of war remnants and to define the humanitarian role of the Red Crescent in some schools at the governorate where some awareness of war remnants lectures given, adding to distribute awareness posters to the participants meanwhile the number of beneficiaries were (470) students.
