The Iraqi Red Crescent organized first aid courses and implements psychosocial support for displaced families in the camps of Erbil governorate

The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has organized first aid courses and implemented some programs of psychosocial support for displaced families in (Harsheem, Korkosk and Dar Shakran) camps which is home to more than 3,000 displaced families in Erbil.
The manager of Erbil branch Hawree Ehsan said “IRCS’s teams visited the three mentioned camps to see their living, physical and health conditions, and organized several first aid courses included the ways on how to present first aid and how to treat the emergency cases like suffocation, burns, fractures and other cases that might be exposed to the displaced, so the number of beneficiaries of the courses was more than 1,800 beneficiaries”.
On the other hand, IRCS’s team in Erbil branch has also organized a psychosocial support to the children of displaced families, and the families of martyrs. More than 800 children have been targeted in this program, adding to implement a variety of activities such as drawing, entertainment and games that can be considered as psychosocial support program (Open Children’s Day) so that to alleviate the suffering of displaced children in order to enable them to life normally and get out of the effects of (forced displacement) they had.In the end, IRCS’s team has distributed more than 800 gifts for kids to draw the joy on their faces.
