The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Deanship of Medicine Faculty/University of Baghdad, to share experiences, training and health services. The MoU was signed by both the president of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society Dr. Yaseen Al-mamori and the Dean of Medicine Faculty Dr. Ali Kamel AbdulJabbar Al-shalejey.
The terms of MoU provide provision of training opportunities for students of Medicine Faculty especially to conduct first aid, and save the lives of the injured and provide them with emergency medical services, also to develop skills of faculty lab, as well as that the professors of the Medicine Faculty to provide health services in hospitals and health centers of IRCS. And to conduct field researches regarding the problems of health which Iraqi community suffered, in order that the graduate students at the college can get benefit of.
The signing of this Agreement comes to prepare students for the practice of medicine in accordance with the high medical global standards throughout their scientific life, through graduation of doctors who had a bachelor’s degree in medicine and general surgery, and having information, professional capacities and behavioral trends, whom had a high qualified which qualify them to a safe and effective medical profession with focusing on primary health care, as well as to prepare doctors who are able to determine the common health problems and its size in the community and ways to limit its spread, and to achieve a high quality educational program for the two phases of undergraduate and graduate studies in the field of medicine, and also to create student’s abilities regarding self-learning, thinking analyze and solving the problems in order to reach on distinguished research on health and disease, and to disseminate the ideas of community involvement through health services and medicine education.
