The Iraqi Red Crescent’s teams provide medical treatments and organize health awareness campaigns for the camps of displaced people in Baghdad

The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced that it provided medical treatments and organized health awareness about transitional and non-transitional diseases in the camps of displaced in Hay al-Jamea’a and al-Resala’a areas in Baghdad. As there was health teams formed from Doctors and stuff from IRCS to check patients in the camps and to provide medical and health services to the displaced families, especially chronic diseases like pressure, diabetes and skin diseases which caused by poor health services and lack of appropriate environmental conditions for live.
IRCS has also published medical units (2 units) in the camps in order to provide medical services and first aid as well as disseminating health awareness among displaced families and to increase health awareness so that to reduce the risk of disease and emergency incidents. IRCS provided psychosocial support to those families, especially children, because they have suffered during the displacement process, as the number beneficiary families were (432) displaced families within the camps, including (1015) children.
Adding to that, IRCS’s teams transferred patients by ambulances to health centers due to they had disease that should undergo surgery, as well as trained a number of displaced young people so that to spread health awareness among displaced families in order to limit the spread of disease.
