The president of Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Dr. Yaseen Al-mamori receives the president of Turkish Red Crescent Society Mr.Ahmad Lutfi Akar and the Turkish Ambassador in Baghdad Mr.Farouq Qaimakachi, as well as their accompanying delegation today at the Headquarters of (IRCS) to discuss strengthening of National Societies partnership regarding relief work.
The two sides has discussed the foundations and ways of cooperation and partnership between the International Movement Components and National Societies in the frame of strengthening humanitarian work.
Dr. Yaseen Al-mamori said that “IRCS is seeking to intensify its aid efforts in cooperation with its partners from the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies to overcome the obstacles regarding the relief operations of supporting displaced people”, stressing at the same time on activating the partnership between National Societies in order to strengthen relief operations capacities, praising on the role of the Turkish Red Crescent Society and its participation in presenting humanitarian aid to the displaced families in Iraq.
For his part, Mr. Ahmad Lutfi Akar expressed his thanks and appreciation concerning humanitarian and relief work which presented by IRCS to provide services and assistance to the displaced families, despite the difficult humanitarian situation,
He stressed also that the Turkish Red Crescent has projects that seek to implement them, and to provide the required needs for displaced people in many of Iraqi governorates, including the holy city of Karbala and Najaf, also he made an offer to accept 1000 caravans that are ready to be used to alleviate the suffering of the displaced families.
