Iraqi Red Crescent Society An independent national humanitarian society that works to reduce the suffering and pain of people without discrimination during the peace and war , natural disasters and non-natural disasters , it is also considered one of the most activist societies in the international movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
The President of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Dr. Yassen Al-Mamouri has received the Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Elhadj As Sy at the Headquarters of IRCS to see the most important humanitarian issues in Iraq.
The two sides discussed the humanitarian situation of displaced people and the efforts that made by the partners of the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to help the displaced people. Elhadj As Sy has priced the efforts of Iraqi Red Crescent regarding the relief operations for assisting the displaced families.
The Secretary General of IFRC has held a meeting with Dr. Haider Abadi, the Prime Minister of Iraq where the two sides discussed the situation of the displaced people and the provision of humanitarian assistance in addition to return displaced families to the areas that have been freed and reconstructed, adding to provide them with needed services.
Elhadji Amadou Gueye also praised the governmental moving regarding the displaced people, and providing support and communication to solve the problems that they face, he pointed out at the same time that IFRC is ready to provide the support to Iraq in this regard.
